I was going to blog here the other day and then I didn't know what to write. So, screw it I said. I'm kind of in a weird mood tonight (tired, yet a little hyper) so maybe I can pull a few things out of my ass. Also: my life isn't nearly as exciting as Ryan's.
School has been going pretty okay. I seem to be doing good on my assignments and labs. Although, this year, I find myself heavily relying on textbooks. 4/5 of my professors teach directly out of them and the other textbook is incredibly useful. I've always hated reading out of textbooks so it's a little bit of a change. It might be a good thing though.
I really am liking the labs too. It makes all the difference when you have a competent lab instructor. The only thing I hate is that I have Wednesday labs due on Friday. C'mon, at least give us the weekend.
I just finished my first set of marking. It was easy but there were 98 papers to do, which is just time-consuming as all hell. It still amazes me that people still mix up the supply and demand curves. That's like the first thing you learn in Economics. And it's NOT hard to remember. Ugh.
Tristan and I went to one of his office parties the other night. It was at a pool hall, so it was fun. I haven't played pool in a very long time, but I did manage to win a couple games. It just got bad when another couple wants to play and one of them "grew up in a farm with a pool table in the basement and nothing else to do". Yeah, we had no chance against that guy.
Also, after the party, we made a trip down to SportChek because he wanted to get some snowboarding boots. So, we go there and a guy by to take Tristan through all the selections.
This guy had the BEST Canadian accent I've ever heard. He was like Bob and Doug MacKenzie's third brother. And because of what he was showing Tristan, he has to say "boot" a lot. I had to walk away to keep from laughing. God, it was so funny.
He and I also have been playing "Tales of the Abyss" together. I'm finding it a lot easier than Symphonia. None of the boss battles have been giving us difficulty and there seems to be A LOT less random battle encounters. It's actually difficult to find one on the world map. But other than that, it's a fun game.
And Jade is awesome. Just awesome.
Oh, and pro tip guys: don't watch "The Matthew Shepard Story" right before you go out on a date. It just makes you depressed and angry at humanity. And I honestly almost burst into tears over dinner with Tristan because I couldn't stop thinking about it. God, that poor guy.
So, Dad's thinking about bringing my 14 years old cousin down from Nova Scotia this summer. I'm kind of torn on this. It would be a good experience for her to get out of the hellhole that is rural Nova Scotia, but I have no idea what we would do to entertain this girl. 14 year old girls are usually hard to impress. Although, I'm sure anything is better than where she's from.
I did have the same doubts about my male cousin when he came down and we bonded rather well (which surprised me because I thought he would have gone to Mike). The difference there was that he was the same age as me and this girl is 8 years younger (God, I feel old). So, it would be interesting to see what would happen.
I think we would have to make a special trip to Manitoba to visit my aunt and uncle that she's never met though. That would be pretty fun, I think.
So, I made a resolution this year to get into shape. I've put on about 15 pounds since last year (ugh) and I want to be, at least, back down to where I was by summertime. I think this is perfectly achievable. It just hasn't been going so well. I was going to start in January but that's when I was having the foot problems. So, I decided to wait until they got better and start on the treadmill in February. And then I've just been so busy or too tired to do anything. Tomorrow afternoon might be a good time to start though.
I think the problem for me is that I need exercise to be in my daily routine. I figure if I just keep to a schedule, it'll just become automatic for me overtime. But we'll see how this goes.
Anyway, I think that's all I gotta say. Until next time!

Oh I know what you mean about the work out thing, I've been trying aswell, its just so hard to fit into a routine because you know for a fact that you'll be tired after you do it, but you don't want to do it too late at night. It just becomes a mess.
And, Regina has a very lovely museum.....?? I would be at a total loss aswell.
